80 kWp

The photovoltaic system on the flat roof visible in the photo was implemented by our customer UCNET on a waterproofing covering of an industrial building in Elmas (Cagliari). Thanks to Sun Ballast’s 5° Sail Shaped system, the space dedicated to the installation has been maximally optimized.

Composed of concrete photovoltaic ballasts, the Sail-System allows for efficient and productive flat PV installations, even when the available surface is limited: the ballasts are placed next to each other with increasing height, eliminating the distance between the rows of panels and making full use of all the space. The absence of fixing holes also makes the installation phases much simpler and faster, and the possibility of adjusting the number of rows based on the roof’s characteristics offers designers and installers the highest level of flexibility.

This 80 kWp PV system consists of four large sails of photovoltaic panels, and to ensure maximum wind resistance, some U-Blocks have been added to the perimeter ballasts: these additional weights are placed directly on the structures, allowing stability and resistance of the installations to be increased in a few minutes. The Sail-System is available in two versions (5° and 11°), and depending on the requirements, the ballasts that compose it can also be used for the positioning of individual rows, thus allowing the height of the modules from the surface to be adjusted as well.
