Employed in the realization of thousands of photovoltaic installations worldwide, Sun Ballast’s Connect system offers installers and designers a simple, robust, and quick-to-install solution, ideal for ensuring high stability to PV panels without overloading building roofs. In this system, each photovoltaic ballast is connected to all other structures in a single grid: this ensures perfectly balanced loads, allowing for lighter ballasts, and ensuring wind resistance even during severe weather events.

Like all Sun Ballast photovoltaic panel structures, those in the Connect system do not require any fixing holes, and installation is quick and easy even on flat gravel roofs, as seen in the photo. The ballasts can be placed directly on the gravel or laid on the membrane usually present underneath it; in any case, the Connect system ensures very high stability for the modules.

The version used in this 10 kW installation is the 10° V, a special version that allows for vertical panel mounting. To further increase stability, our client Tecnoesse Impianti also added some U-Blocks: these additional weights are placed in a few minutes directly on the concrete ballasts and allow for easy adjustment of the load according to installation needs.
