Used by thousands of installers and designers for photovoltaic systems on flat roofs, Sun Ballast’s concrete ballasts simplify all phases of installation. The photovoltaic mounting structures require no roof penetration, whether for flat roof or ground installations, and offer high wind resistance while reducing installation time and costs.
The 360 kW system shown in the photo was installed in the Parma province by our client Orio Elettra Srl using the 20° Connect system, a reticular mounting system where each ballast is connected to all others in a single network. This configuration allows for the use of lighter and more manageable structures, distributing the wind load and system weight across the entire network.
The system is available in tilt angles of 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, and 30°, and can be installed on any type of flat surface, from membrane, gravel, or paved roofs to grassy or dirt surfaces. Like all Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts, those in the Connect system – front, central, and end ballast – come with pre-installed M8 fixation bushings. To complete the photovoltaic system, simply place the concrete ballasts on the surface, install the modules, tighten the clamps, and proceed with the electrical connections.
