8 kWp
10°
This 8 kW residential photovoltaic system was installed by our client MK Home Energie in Sète, on the French coast, using Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts. These flat roof mounting structures allowed for a simple and quick installation without the need for any complex metal components or anchoring holes.
The pre-assembled concrete ballasts of the Single-Row 10° system – available in versions from 0° to 30° – are simply placed on the roof, even when installed on gravel-covered flat roofs. In this case, the structures were positioned on the membrane beneath the gravel layer, ensuring that the roof’s integrity remained intact while freely adjusting both the length and distance between rows.
With the integration of Cablowind and U-Block, wind resistance – particularly crucial in coastal areas where it is often strong – was also ensured. Cablowind, a special concrete channel that acts as both additional weight and a housing for electrical cables, significantly enhances resistance to the elements. The 30 kg U-Block additional weights can be placed either on the channel (as in this case) or directly on the ballasts.
The high quality of the concrete used in Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts also guarantees maximum resistance to salt, making flat roof photovoltaic systems even more reliable and durable.
