Developed to maximize the use of all available spaces, the Sail system by Sun Ballast represents a simple, fast, and versatile solution, ideal for optimizing all surfaces dedicated to the PV system. The Sail-Shaped anchoring system for photovoltaic panels is composed of different ballasts, each with a different height from the roof: this way, it is possible to place the rows of modules next to each other, forming a real “sail” of modules, completely eliminating the distance between the rows and effectively managing any shading.
Depending on the characteristics of the roof, the concrete ballasts that make up the system can also be used in single rows, freely adjusting the distance between them and selecting the most suitable height for the specific characteristics of the building. Each ballast already contains the fixing inserts inside, and the fastening of the clamps (provided with the structures) becomes even quicker and more secure. Available in two different inclinations, the Sail 10° system allows for up to three consecutive rows of panels, while with the 5° version – used for this installation – the rows increase to six.
The 29 kW PV system visible in the photo was created by our customer Lombarda Automazioni S.R.L. on the flat roof of a building in Merate (province of Lecco), and thanks to the Sun Ballast ballasts, the system has guaranteed the best level of performance and reliability.
