While today new buildings – both industrial and residential – are already designed taking into account the needs of photovoltaic systems, those built until a few years ago sometimes present irregular conformations, which require designers and installers a good level of flexibility and solid professional skills: in order to achieve the highest level of efficiency and overall quality, it becomes indeed essential to know how to choose the most suitable components to make the best use of all the available space, starting from the supporting structures.
These in fact play a fundamental role, both in terms of reliability and from the point of view of plant productivity: the one built in San Secondo di Pinerolo by our client Is Energy was installed on the roof of an industrial building, and easily reached 121 kWp of power.
The roof of the building has four flat sheathing surfaces, not joined in one area but separate and elevated from the rest of the roof. For this reason, optimizing the available space was a real priority, and thanks to Sun Ballast’s 5° Sail system, the result was top-notch: in the Sail system, the rows of photovoltaic panels are in fact placed side by side with increasing height, eliminating the distance between modules altogether and making the most of the entire surface.
The installation was also quick and easy, easily meeting the implementation time agreed with the customer and ensuring the PV system the best level of productivity.
