100 kWp
5°
The 100 kW photovoltaic system shown in the picture—composed of multiple “sail” configurations of panels—was installed on the flat roof of a hotel in the province of Padua by Evolved Group. The use of Sun Ballast photovoltaic ballasts made the installation easy and fast.
In fact, Sun Ballast support structures do not require any fixation holes, ensuring a quick and secure mounting process without any roof penetration or damage to the building coverage (in this case, a slate membrane). The mounting system used in this installation allowed for optimized space utilization. The sail system consists of multiple concrete ballasts, each with increasing height. Thanks to this configuration, the photovoltaic modules can be placed in consecutive rows without spacing, completely eliminating shading between them. This optimised space distribution enhances the system’s efficiency.
Depending on the building characteristics and project design, these ballasts can also be installed in single rows, with adjustable spacing and height to suit different roof obstacles and support parameters.
Available in two versions, the 10° tilt angle sail system allows up to three consecutive panel rows, while the 5° version—used in this installation—accommodates up to six rows.
