Sun Ballast supplied the ballast for the construction of a photovoltaic system on a flat sheathed roof of a house in Madrid, Spain, installed by our customer Fullsun.

The choice that our Technical Department made to make this system possible and fully satisfy the customer’s needs was to use the Sun Ballast Connect system. A large and solid grid of concrete ballasts all connected to each other, a system which is composed of a front ballast, a central one and a terminal one that closes the rows.

The main advantages to consider when talking about the Connect system are certainly the wind resistance that reaches thresholds even higher than 150 km/h, but also the limited roof loads, thanks to its shape and structure that distributes the weight evenly over the entire available area, maintaining a maximum weight of 20-25 kg/m2 including the panels.

Obtaining an efficient and stable photovoltaic system is very simple and the example is this PV system capable of producing up to 5 kwp of renewable energy.
