This large 497.8-kWp photovoltaic system using Sun Ballast support structures was built in Austria by our client Energieautonom GmbH, on a large flat surface covered in sheathing.

The ballasts used in this case were the Standard system with a 0° inclination. This is a frequently chosen inclination, often used by our Technical Department in agreement with our customers primarily in the event of landscape constraints on the building site.

The system’s versatility also made it possible to take the characteristics of the roof into account, avoiding chimneys and other small obstacles that were scattered across the area.

In addition, due to the fact that our structures simply rest on the ground and are not fixed to the surface through holes, the properties of the protective sheathing covering the surface remain unaffected. The roof surface then is further preserved by the use of the special sheaths provided by Sun Ballast that act as an additional protective layer.

Stability, versatility, and high wind resistance are the advantages of the Sun Ballast Standard system, which allowed the construction of this large plant that now produces renewable energy in the fresh mountain air.
