High resistance to weather conditions, fast installation, and compatibility with all flat surfaces: the Connect system from Sun Ballast offers an easy and quick solution to install, providing the best balance between wind resistance and roof load for photovoltaic systems on flat roofs.
In this mounting system, every ballast is connected to the others in a single reticular system: in this way, the wind loads are distributed across the entire structure network, resulting in much more balanced weight distribution, making the photovoltaic system safer and more reliable. The 42 kW plant shown in the photo was installed in Pärnumaa (Estonia) by our client Energiapartner and is located on the flat roof of a large water park.
The three different photovoltaic support structures that make up the Connect system (used here with a 15° tilt) are available in a wide range of tilt angles from 5° to 30°, guaranteed for 25 years, and come with integrated bushings for secure fixation. The photos also show the section of the roof where the Single-Row system was used: the presence of air conditioning units, lifelines, and skylights required a flexible and simple solution. The ability to freely adjust the spacing between the rows of panels made it easy to manage all roof obstacles.
As with all Sun Ballast racking systems, both the Connect and Single-Row systems (available with tilts from 0° to 30°) did not require any roof penetration or complex metal accessories, significantly reducing the overall installation time.
