Simple, solid and resistant: Sun Ballast racking systems are designed to guarantee solar modules of all sizes reliable and long-lasting support, and can be used on any type of flat surface. The 83 kW system shown in the photo was installed by our customer, EIS Solar, in Pittsburgh, PA, with the Connect 5° system, and the installation was carried out on a flat roof with a sheath membrane covering.

As the ballasted racking does not require any roof penetrations or anchors, the installation of the system did not damage the waterproofing characteristics of the roofing material in any way, while reducing assembly times and simplifying the installation phases as much as possible. The interconnection of all the racking and panels in a single network also allows for a high level of wind resistance to be maintained and evenly distributes the weight load throughout the entire roof surface. The low porosity of the cement used to produce the ballasts reduces water penetration to a minimum, making the Sun Ballast racking systems extremely resistant to freeze and thaw cycles.

When it comes to large panels? Simple: with the No-Flex kit you just need to add a central ballast and clamp the module in two additional points in the middle, ensuring even the largest modules never bend. The use of the “PowerClamp” steel clamps- which also achieve electrical bonding between the modules – also makes it possible to speed up all system grounding operations, while the pre-cast M8 threaded inserts ensure quick, strong and long-lasting clamping.
