When the goal is to achieve the best ratio between energy production and utilized space, Sun Ballast’s Sail system is the ideal solution. This mounting system for photovoltaic panels on flat roofs consists of multiple photovoltaic structures, each at a different height from the roof surface. This configuration allows the rows of panels to be placed consecutively side by side, forming a “sail” of modules and maximizing the use of available space.
Depending on the project, the photovoltaic structures in this system can also be arranged in single rows, adjusting length and spacing while selecting the most suitable height for the roof’s characteristics (e.g., based on parapet height).
Available in two versions, the Sail 10° system accommodates up to three consecutive panel rows, while the 5° inclination—used for this project—allows up to six rows.
This 18 kW flat-roof photovoltaic installation was completed in Udine by our client Vulpes Impianti. Thanks to the simplicity of Sun Ballast ballasts, the installation was carried out efficiently and within the agreed delivery timeline.
