Sun Ballast mounting systems for photovoltaic panels provide industry professionals with a wide range of solutions suitable for any need, minimizing costs, time, and challenges associated with installing PV systems on flat roofs. Sun Ballast concrete ballasts are simply placed on the building’s roof without requiring any drilling, ensuring exceptional resistance even in areas exposed to heavy stresses (e.g., wind, snow, etc.).
The 321 kW system shown in the photo was installed in Mšené-lázně (Czech Republic) by our client EKOTEZ using the Industrial-XL 5° system, a grid-based configuration where each ballast is interconnected in a single network. This setup ensures not only a high level of resistance to weather conditions but also uniform weight distribution across the entire roof surface.
The ballasts in the Industrial-XL 5° system are also designed to be compatible with all next-generation modules. The four-point fixing along the long side provides excellent stability even for larger panels, and the vertical (portrait) orientation maximizes the energy output of half-cut modules while effectively managing shading between rows. Like all Sun Ballast photovoltaic structures, the Industrial-XL system includes pre-fitted M8 inserts for clamp attachment and a metal reinforcement bar that further enhances mechanical stability under stress.
