Sun Ballast concrete ballasts for photovoltaic systems are now used in thousands of PV installations worldwide. The reason? Their great versatility: the structures can be used on any type of flat surface, from large industrial building roofs to small ground spaces. In this case, after the excavation and compaction operations, the ballasts were simply laid down without needing any ground fixing holes.
Made of high-quality concrete, the structures guarantee maximum wind resistance without the need for anchoring, and they are available in numerous versions. The photo shows a 9 kW system installed by our client Sarl Michel Meillan in Clermont-l’Hérault (France): the Single-Row 15° system allowed the distances between the rows of panels to be freely adjusted, optimally managing shading and facilitating the assembly steps.
The presence of M8 fixing inserts already within the ballasts made the module installation much faster, while the integration of additional U-Block weights further enhanced the stability and resistance of the system to all weather conditions. Like the ballasts, positioning the 30 kg U-Block weights also requires no holes: simply select the points to reinforce and place the weight directly on the ballast.
