Developed to ensure maximum wind resistance even in the presence of strong gusts, Sun Ballast’s Connect system represents a simple, robust, and lightweight solution: in this system, each photovoltaic ballast is connected to all others in a single grid, offering a perfectly balanced load distribution across the entire roof. Thanks to this particular configuration, it is possible to use even lighter photovoltaic panel structures, reducing both the weight on the building and transportation costs.
The flat roof photovoltaic system of 58 kWp visible in the photo was installed on a large warehouse in Peetri – a small village in northern Estonia bordering Tallinn – by our client Energiapartner using the Connect 15° system: the absence of fixing holes made the installation phases much simpler and faster, ensuring at the same time the integrity of the roofing membrane and the highest level of sealing and stability. The Connect system is available in a wide range of inclinations – from 5° to 30° – and consists of three different types of structures for photovoltaic panels: front, central, and end structures.
Connect is also compatible with the No-Flex system (dedicated to large panels) as well as with additional weights called “U-Block“: these latter – visible on numerous central ballasts – are directly placed on the structures, ensuring maximum wind resistance even in the most exposed points.
