Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria, one of the islands that make up the Canary archipelago. A tourist destination of great interest, the island is also a particularly suitable place for the generation of electricity from photovoltaic systems. The number of hours of light per year is in fact particularly high, and the high levels of productivity make it possible to significantly reduce the payback times of investments, making them even more sustainable and attractive.

For this 18 kWp system – created by our customer Ingeniería y Desarrollo Energético Sostenible – the Sun Ballast Vela 11° system was used: a simple, solid and quick to install solution which, by eliminating the space between the rows of panels, allows to optimize all the available spaces in the best possible way, ensuring maximum efficiency for the system on any type of surface.

In fact, the system makes it possible to place several rows of modules side by side – up to 3 in the 11° version, up to 6 with a 5° inclination – creating a “sail” of panels capable of generating high levels of energy even when the space available is reduced.

In this case, another requirement also concerned the aesthetic impact: the facility was in fact built very close to the beach and – thanks to their minimal but extremely functional design – the Sun Ballast structures guaranteed a result that was not only effective and productive , but also tidy and aesthetically pleasing.
